When it comes to fighting gender-based violence (GBV), consent becomes a vital force. It’s a fundamental principle that lies at the heart of respecting personal boundaries and individual autonomy. Recognizing the significance of consent is even more crucial when we consider the challenges faced by Ethiopian LGBTQ+ individuals in a society marked by hostility and discrimination.
Consent ensures that everyone has the power to make choices about their own bodies, free from coercion or force. By actively championing and practicing consent within our community, we can create a safer, more trusting, and more equal society.
