In Addis Ababa, life can be very hard for lesbians. But I am very lucky. I have my girlfriend. She makes me feel happy and safe.

This weekend, we did nothing special. We just spent time together. We drank coffee. We talked for many hours. We held hands and rested together. It was very quiet and peaceful. In our home, the outside world felt very far away.

With her, I do not feel afraid. She is like a safe place for me. In this country, people sometimes are not kind to us. But when I am with her, I feel strong. I know that we can face any problem together.

She makes me believe that our future is good. Our love is strong. No matter what happens, we will be okay. I am so grateful for her. She is my happiness.
